Fourth mobility: Iceland

From the 21st to the 27th of October, the fourth mobility of the project took place in Sauðárkrókur (Iceland). During this mobility, students from each school shared their pieces of work about social inclusion and how countries and public institutions help immigrants and refugees in each country. Moreover, students worked in multicultural groups to reflect on what city councils and different organizations must improve to fight again social exclusion. Participants visited  Akureyri and attended the Ahmed Essbianni conference, a cultural broker from Morocco. On the way back to Sauðárkrókur, students and teachers visited Kakalaskáli, a Sturlung Saga Museum. This fourth mobility was a splendid experience for all participants!

Third mobility: Norway

From the 21st to the 28th of April, the third mobility of the project was made in Nesoddtangen (Norway). During that mobility, students from each school presented the work they had been doing and creating since the mobility to Cyprus (February). Those pieces of work (presentations and guides for refugees and immigrants) are located on the schools page of this blog. Moreover, students worked in multicultural groups to discuss about the presentations and they produced other digital documents with the most relevant ideas they extracted. Besides, there was also time for cultural visits to Oslo and to other coastal areas in Nesoddtangen. This third mobility was a splendid experience for all the participants!

Second mobility: Cyprus.

From the 25th of February to the 1st of March, the second mobility of the project was made in Pafos (Cyprus). Students and teachers from the participating schools and countries met in that city in order to keep on working about cooperation, solidarity, inclusion, ways to contribute to difficult social situations... During this mobility, students from each school presented the work they had been doing and creating since the mobility to Poland (January). Those pieces of work (presentations) are located on the schools page of this blog and are related to various aspects: asylum process in each partner country, interviews to immigrants and refugees and also the context, introduction and objectives of the common social inclusion plan for partner schools. Moreover, students worked in multicultural groups to discuss about all the presentations and they presented the most relevant ideas they extracted. First mobility: Poland

From the 7th to the 12th of January, the first mobility of the project was made in Wroclaw (Poland). Students and teachers from the participating schools and countries met in that city in order to work and also to share ideas and knowledge about the topics of this project: cooperation, solidarity, inclusion... During this mobility, students from each school presented the work they had been doing and creating for three months, from the beginning of the school year (presentations prepared by each school are located on schools page of this blog). Besides, all the participants were working in multicultural groups in order to share their thoughts and ideas and to produce presentations with the conclusions of the mobility. Moreover, students voted for the logo they would like the most to represent this Erasmus+ project! This one was the chosen logo: Apart from all these aspects, we also visited some museums about the history of Poland and Wroclaw as well a former concentration ...

OECD Forum

OECD FORUM   During the OECD Forum "Strength through Diversity", held the 15th and 16th of November 2018 in Tenerife (Canary Islands), our Erasmus+ project "International cooperation: improving the future" was presented as a good practice related to immigrant and refugee educational inclusion in remote regions. In this sense, we were told that our presentation showed "the important work being done for the integration of migrant and refugee students and it also provided an excellent example of good practices for the participants to bring back and incorporate into their respective countries, regions and school systems".   ABOUT THE PROJECT          This project stems from the necessity to create collaboration to achieve a common purpose: finding solutions to counteract social exclusion. In the light of the social crisis which has impacted greatly on Europe, this project also aims at educating young people and give them a deeper understanding of the need to face current social problems and to get involved, propose and carry out initiatives that will have an impact on their social environment. Bearing this in mind, main objectives of this project are the following: To educate the school community and help them to understand the need to face current    problems related to refugees, migration and other social situations, as well as the urgent need to be engaged and look for initiatives which help to lighten the negative impact of this social situation.
